Unmissable Events

If you are curious about the Jazz-Age after reading my latest blog post (about the allure of a fringe dress), you may want to hear Virginia Bates talking about her latest book at the V&A, celebrating the highlights of this period. She continues to attract fashion designers, stylists and collectors to her beautiful vintage boutique since 1972.

"Dressed to Kill, Jazz-Age Fashion" explores the glamorous fashions of the 1920s such as the sequinned dress, cocktail wear, opera coats and evening jackets. It's a great opportunity to be inspired by her passion for vintage clothes and her unique styling insights.

Spijkers en Spijkers collection has also a 1920s vibe and Piers Atkinson continues to impress with his beautiful headpieces, fit for movie stars. These are just two of many designers who caught my attention during the so-called press days, when PR agencies open their doors to showcase the latest collections of the designers they represent.

Black and white graphics taking inspiration from Op Art are another key trend for the coming season, with British Vogue magazine dedicating a whole issue to Pop. From Rob Pruitt's collection for Jimmy Choo to many designers on the catwalk, this is something to look out for.

This is such an exciting time! It gives me great pleasure to celebrate the first anniversary of my blog with a video about an amazing evening - Vogue's Fashion Night Out. The streets were alive with a buzzing atmosphere, live music entertainment and fun photo sessions. Enjoy!

Jimmy Choo Cruise Collection

From Gucci to Salvatore Ferragamo, many luxury labels are presenting their cruise collections at the moment to welcome the holiday season in style and Jimmy Choo is no exception.

Many celebrities wear the brand's sexy high heels on and off the red carpet. Jimmy Choo cruise collection is a splash of bright colours, from turquoise to lime, they infuse vitality and playfulness into the summer look.

If you enjoy having fun with fashion, you will love the brand's capsule collection, created in collaboration with American artist Rob Pruitt, whose iconoclastic humour and visual exuberance emerged on the New York art scene in the late '80s.

Unfortunately I'm unable to share images of this collection but it has a whimsical feel, incorporating some of his recurrent artistic themes such as the glittering panda bear. It definitely suits women who are not afraid to make a statement.

"We are really excited by the collection as it reflects everything that captivated us about collaborating with Rob Pruitt: his energy, use of colour and the festive exuberance of his prints and materials." Creative Directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway

Both collections are set to debut in Jimmy Choo boutiques and online in November.
