Fashion Press Day

For those oblivious to fashion, a press day is when designers display their collections for next season to a selected few, after being presented for the first time on the catwalk. This is a way to get things going before everything hits the shop floor.

PR companies usually lead this event, gathering all their clients in one place with different rooms. Scented candles and beautiful flowers help to create a pleasant atmosphere for journalists, stylists and bloggers, who all gather to do their work.

But some luxury brands tend to do their press day in house such as Jimmy Choo, which introduced the first collection after Tamara Mellon's departure, inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Kate Moss. It definitely has a bohemian feel!

The new creative directors, Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway, have imagined a world where the vibe is decadent, rebellious and extravagant with embroidered suede and exotic patchwork.

There was a wide range of evening styles inspired by Biba and 70s glam rock but my favourite shoes are adorned with feathers!

Today was a feast for my eyes, it was inspiring to see so many beautiful dresses from renowned designers such as Matthew Williamson and Giles. Incredible accessories and jewellery can help creating the perfect look.

For instance, you can wear this Jean-Pierre Braganza dress with these Gianvito Rossi shoes and a clutch bag by Corto Moltedo.

For a more classic look, why not combine these whimsical Charlotte Olympia shoes with an amazing Erdem dress and Jimmy Choo clutch bag?

With such an array of beautiful things it's difficult to choose, this is only a small fraction of it all. But my selection wouldn't be complete without mentioning Maria Francesca Pepe's jewellery and this great skirt by Cédric Charlier which would look fabulous with these moon inspired shoes.

For an extreme styling fit for the stars,  Erevos Aether creates clothes that almost demand a stage, these are not for the faint-hearted but for those who love to put on a performance wherever they go.
