Fashion Event at Claridges

After studying at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Zaeem Jamal followed his heart and set up his own fashion business, reinforcing the family ties with the clothing industry.

Jamal presented his debut collection at Dubai Fashion Week in 2009 and since then has expanded the business, opening one boutique in London and another in Los Angeles.

It was great to attend the Champagne reception at Claridges and being able to see the Autumn Winter 2012 collection up and close: tailored silk dresses with an Arabian Nights vibe, bringing to mind Aladdin and his magical lamp.

Zaeem Jamal uses rich hand embroidery to create exotic patterns in radiant gemstone colours evocative of Cleopatra and the magnificent imagery from the world of the Ancient Egyptians and their mysterious civilisation.

One of his collections - Colours of I - is based on colour therapy, combining different elements to create clothes which are supposed to boost the body's energy.  I'm a bit sceptical about this but some days we can be drawn to wear a specific colour, maybe it's our inner energy trying to find its natural balance.
