Kaftans: Diane Von Furstenberg and Matthew Williamson Sandals: Alexander McQueen (top) and Prada |
If you followed my spring clean recommendation, it's easy to spot what you need to add up to your wardrobe without being carried away by impulse purchases. But this post is all about the bare essentials for a summer holiday, such as kaftans and flat sandals which are both practical and glamorous.
Emilio Pucci, Tara Mathews and Melissa Odabash |
Regarding swimwear, the most flattering is the bikini ideally without any straps, so you don't have to worry about them when drying out in the sun. You want to have your shoulders evenly tanned and ready for the revealing evening tops and dresses.
Ted Baker, La Perla and Miu Miu |
And a naturally tanned belly always looks beautiful but if you didn't manage to loose extra weight, it's far more elegant to wear a swimsuit. Again, strapless is definitely more convenient, but this amazing fringed La Perla is a sexy exception to the rule.
Marc by Marc Jacobs beach tote |
You also need a beach tote to take the absolutely necessary sun protection creams for face and body, in order to avoid premature ageing and skin sun spots. Other than that take a good book, a fashion magazine and the ability to drop everything and be one with nature. And remember to be peaceful and loving to those around you!
